1940 Ford street rod pick up. DGT2285 VIN B18572285 This 1940 Ford pickup was the subject of a custom build under previous ownership using a modified chassis with a Mustang II-style front suspension crossmember, tubular front control arms, and dual rear leaf springs. Power was provided by a 350ci Chevrolet V8. While we were doing the service work on it, the engine acted up like maybe the oil pump quit working. We had a 327 engine for a number of years and we got it running. It ran well so we installed it into the 40 Ford PU. It runs and drives great. TH350 three-speed automatic transmission. The truck is finished in red with a red and tan upholstery. Additional equipment includes power front disc brakes and rear drums. Power rack-and-pinion steering, The interior is equipped with later-model bucket seats trimmed in tan vinyl upholstery with red cloth inserts joined by color-coordinated door panels. A custom center stack is installed, and features include air conditioning, power windows, aftermarket speakers, and a Pioneer CD stereo. Chrome 15″ smoothie-style wheels are mounted with Grand Prix Performance GT tires measuring 215/70 up front and 275/60 out back. Electronic ignition, a four-barrel carburetor, and Flowmaster mufflers. The last owner owned it for about nine years. The drop-down tailgate opens to reveal a polished diamond-plate bed floor.
